Lil Kim Talks Mixtape Sales Controversy "Why Aren't They Questioning The Black Friday Video Being At 2.5 million Views In Less Than 18 Hours,What's The Difference?" Labels Nicki Minaj "Obsolete"

Much has been made of the controversial sales figures for Lil Kim's 'Black Friday' mixtape.

Kim announced via twitter that the tape moved 113,000 copies in the 1st 28 hours.

Since then, some critics and even Kim's number 1 nemesis, Nicki Minaj have scoffed at the numbers.

Laughing at Kim doesn't stop the fact that the wolves are circling Nicki right now.  Her first time manager, Fendi teamed with Lil Kim on the "Black Friday" video

In an interview with  Rap-Up yesterday (February 17), Kimmy Blanco attempted to clear the air regarding the sales numbers and Nicki.

RU: What do you say to those who question the authenticity of those figures?

Kim: At the end of the day, you’re always going to have your haters. We need the haters. There was actually a representative at PayPal who basically didn’t really confirm or deny it, but also [said] that they’re very happy and proud of the success of Lil’ Kim. I think numbers in other areas speak for themselves. I mean, why aren’t they questioning the Black Friday [video] being at 2.5 [million views] in less than 18 hours? Why aren’t they questioning that? What’s the difference? How can you add up one thing and not the other? I just feel like people pick and choose the area that they want to attack [laughs].

RU: Do you know the current sales numbers?

Kim: No, I actually don’t know right now. I have a team that kinda checks up on all that. We’ll keep you posted.

RU: Nicki Minaj laughed off your sales claims. Did you see that?

Kim: I heard about it. I didn’t see it actually for myself, but to be honest with you, homegirl is basically obsolete to me right now. She’s doing a lot of lame stuff. She’s so lame to me right now—she’s always been, but now really. At the end of the day, her sales can be questioned also. Not to say she didn’t have the build-up, but the only thing you kept hearing before her album dropped was nobody liked it, it was wack. Don’t get me wrong, she might have a couple songs that are OK, but who cares. The haters will be haters, that’s their job, and we need them.

I think the interview might spawn even more questions until people see actual proof, but you can't question the fact that Kim is building a nice buzz for herself right now.

SMH! J-KWON WAS LOCKED UP FOR NOT MAKING CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS FOR A CHILD THAT'S NOT EVEN HIS!

TAMPA, Fla. — Fresh off a Grammy win, Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton is set to stand trial again in federal court in Florida.
Jury selection will begin Monday in Tampa. Banton is accused of conspiring to buy cocaine from an undercover officer and faces up to life in prison.

The jury deadlocked in his first trial in September.

Banton's attorney, David Markus, says the singer is not guilty.

Banton was arrested in December 2009 and held in Tampa-area jails until November, when he was released on house arrest. He was allowed to perform a concert in Miami last month to raise money for his court-ordered security and other expenses.

His 2010 album "Before the Dawn" won the Grammy award for best reggae album Sunday.

SMH! J-KWON WAS LOCKED UP FOR NOT MAKING CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS FOR A CHILD THAT'S NOT EVEN HIS!

During an interview with Miss Georgia, J-Kwon informed listeners that he'd been paying $2,500 per month in child support for seven years for a child that was eventually determined not to be his.

The artist goes on to say that he was jailed for not making the child support payments, which derailed his entire career by killing his ability to earn income.

He also said that when it was determined that he wasn't the child's father, the courts provided no remedies whatsoever for him to retrieve the tens of thousands of dollars he'd paid over a seven-year period.

J-Kwon is now saying that he plans to start a foundation for Fathers who are having their rights violated by the child support system. I support his initiative, because many of us forget about the millions of fathers out there who are doing all they can to have access to their kids and trying to do the right thing, but are left alienated by deceptive Mothers and a court system that would rather see a man in jail than with his own children.

J-Kwon went on to mention that he'd allowed the Mother of his child to live in a house he owned, and he also claims that she was destroying court paperwork as it came to the house. So based on my interpretation of the interview, it seems that the artist is implying that the woman might have been a long-term mate and that she may have also been concerned about him finding out that he wasn't the Father.

Whether her alleged deception was out of her desire to maintain her relationship with J-Kwon or for her own financial benefit (or both) it's hard to tell.

Here are some quick thoughts on the J-Kwon child support situation, particularly as it pertains to black fathers all across America:

1) If this woman deceived him for years and caused him to be incarcerated, she needs to be put on trial and possibly sent to jail. She helped take away his freedom, so her freedom should be reconsidered as well, at least according to the rules under which she has chosen to play.

2) I am not sure why the courts somehow feel that a child is better off when his father is in jail than when he is out making money to take care of his family. An incarcerated man can't spend time with his children, he can't make a living to pay child support and he also has a hard time getting a job for the rest of his life because of our nation's draconian treatment of convicted felons. The child support system destroys millions of families across America and is in desperate need of reform.

3) The J-Kwon child support story is played out all across America in millions of households. There are also countless instances of parental alienation experienced by Fathers dealing with co-parents who've decided that they have the right to be dictators over the father-child relationship.

When people go to the club and "get tipsy" (the name of J-Kwon's most-famous song) and then choose to lie down and have sex with someone, they must realize that a child produced from that relationship was created by two people, not one.

So, kicking the father out of a child's life because you somehow don't approve of his parenting skills is not sufficient justification for destroying your child's future. For some reason, many parents have become so focused on their own selfish need for love and adulation that their children become emotional accessories with the child's best-interest being completely thrown to the wayside.

Men like Eric Legette help fathers to find ways to be involved with the lives of their children. Legette also helps them to protect their rights when it comes to issues like visitation and child support. The point is not to say that every single Mother in America is somehow corrupt or malevolent in her motives. It is to say that the story of the irresponsible black man who loves to abandon his kids is one of the urban legends to which we've become collectively addicted.

Yes, there are some seriously "trifling" Fathers, but to argue that black male irresponsibility is the sole reason for the break down of the African-American family is reckless, weak and unthoughtful.

There's nothing like struggling to find air space in the life of your child with the threat of incarceration hanging over your head in the event that you can't pay anymore. The child support system has become America's Debtor's Prison.

Tupac Biopic Filming Locations Revealed

The filming locations for a Tupac Shakur biopic have been revealed and show the late rapper's life story being told from Los Angeles, Georgia and more regions.

According to new reports, the film will go into production as late as the summer.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin in late Spring/early Summer on the biopic "TUPAC," it was announced today (February 10) James G. Robinson, Co-Chairman/CEO, and Rick Nicita, Co-Chairman/COO, of Morgan Creek Productions. Directed by Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day," "Brooklyn's Finest"), the film will be shot on location in Los Angeles, New York, Georgia and Las Vegas and is currently being cast. (Deadline)

Cast descriptions on biopic real life characters like Suge Knight and Jada Pinkett-Smith were recently revealed.

Suge Knight: Early 30s, an enormous, intimidating, larger-than-life man with a stone countenance, never seen without his jewel-encrusted Death Row medallion or his thuggish bodyguards (all of whom are members of the Bloods), he's the CEO of Death Row Records. At times a fearsome figure, and at other times a paternal, calming presence, Suge is proud of his authentic history. Jada Pinkett: Long before she met and married Will Smith, Jada Pinkett was a classmate of Tupac's at the Baltimore School of the Arts. A regal, stunning young woman (seen from the ages of 17 to early 20s), she puts Tupac in his place for altering some of Hamlet's lines in a school production. She encourages and supports his poetry, and tells him he was put on earth to change things. (Movie Hole)

An official film synopsis has also recently revealed.

"The rise and fall of Tupac Shakur is chronicled, from his days attending the Baltimore School of the Arts as a teenager, to his decision to leave his mother's dead-end life behind and embrace the Thug Life in California, to his wild success as a rapper and his dangerous war against the East Coast scene. A true poet who was waylaid by fame's trappings, his earliest ambition was to change the world and make a difference in people's lives, and before his tragic murder in Las Vegas in 1996, that's exactly what 2Pac did..." (Cinema Blend)

Currently, Training Day director Antoine Fuqua is slated to direct the film.

"It looks like we're doing Tupac Shakur's movie next in September, that's what I've been starting up and working on now," he said. "I've been working on that for a while with Morgan Creek and Jim Robinson. I just got the greenlight from him and we're going in September. I've just started to prep that." Fuqua added that he is hoping to find an unknown actor to portray the iconic hip-hop star, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996. "That's the goal, I want to discover someone new," he explained. "I want to discover a lot of new people if I can. Obviously I'm going to have to put some people in it that you know, just because actors have different skills. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world." 2Pac Practiced What He Preached: Kool G Rap Recalls Being W/Pac During The L.A. Riots After Rodney King Verdict "He Was Poppin Burners Shooting Out Windows, Expressing His Anger" [Video]

March 3, 1991 Los Angeles, California police officers are caught on camera beating Rodney King almost to death following a high speed chase. The nation was outraged, in particular the black and hispanic communities because this type of activity was far too common in their neighborhoods.

On April 29, 1992 all four officers accused of excessive force were acquitted, setting off a powder keg of racial tension, destruction, death and mayhem in L.A..

In total 53 people were killed, thousands were injured and an estimated $1billion dollars in damage was done to the city.

Amongst those running around at that time mad, angry and looking for somone or something to take their anger out on was Kool G Rap, Sir Jinx of the Lench Mob and Tupac Shakur.

KGR sat down with VladTV and gave them the real on what happened.

"Me and Pac met down in the L.A. riots. I was out there working on my album [Live and Let Die]. We was out there in the riots poppin burners off and all that sh*t. Me, Pac, Jinx and my man Guch," G Rap says. "After the Rodney King verdict and everybody went f*cking ballistic. You know what... everybody was bugging out and doing they own thing they didn't notice no 2Pac & G Rap at that time.

Pac was expressing his sense of anger for the verdict, he was shooting out store windows and sh*t like that. As dangerous as the hood was back then and to this day. It seemed like this was one of the only times you could feel safe if you was a black person because all the anger was directed towards whites at this time, because it seemed like the [not guilty] verdict made it a race issue. Where you had 12 all white jurors and you had videotape documentation of what happened to this man, so it became a race issue."

Now I don't want people to read this and think I'm glorifying violence or what Pac and other people did at the time. I'm just pointing out another example of how Pac didn't just rap about things in his songs and go home to a plush crib then forget the struggle. He truly practiced what he preached.

Check out the rest of the interview as G Rap compares Pac to legendary soul singer Marvin Gaye.

Birdman Responds To Jay-Z's "H.A.M." Diss, Drops $1.4 Million on New Maybach Landaulet. Who Would Win A Battle Between Hov And Lil Wayne?

"These rappers rap about all the sh*t that I do rarely/ I’m like really half a billie n*gga/ Really you got baby money/ Keep it real with n*ggas, N*ggas aint got my lady money" Jay-Z "H.A.M."

Jay-Z is forever throwing subliminal jabs at rappers, some are easier to catch than others. It's pretty clear though, he was taking a jab at Birdman and Wayne on "H.A.M." with the "baby money" line.

While not engaging in a war of words, which he rarely if ever does, Stunna does acknowledge he heard the line loud and clear and responded via twitter.

If it bothered him he's not showing it as he dropped more "baby money" on a new Maybach Landaulet for about $1.4 million. Courtesy of his million dollar bet on the Green Bay Packers to win the Super Bowl.

I already spent that money on a Landaulet Maybach" Birdman told XXL. “My son [Weezy] is a Green Bay fan. I’m a diehard Saints fan, but he’s a die-hard Green Bay fan. So I just went hard. And I believed Green Bay was going to win, they pulled it off. My son knows a lot of about sports, so I was just like whatever he’s going to rock with I’m going to rock with hard."

Stunna says to expect him to drop a $5 million dollar bet on Floyd Mayweather Jr if ever fights Manny Pacquiao.

I’m a fan of him, whoever he fights I think he’s gonna beat, so when he fights Pacquiao I’m going to bet 5 million.” Birdman says

As for Jay-Z, I think it's time he stops throwing subliminals and start naming names. The mere fact he's even throwing shots Wayne's direction means he might be feeling some type of way about Weezy's success.

Who do you think would win a lyrical battle between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne? And peep pics of the Maybach Landaulet below.

Snoop Dogg Breaks Down How Suge Knight Use To Rob Producers "Tell That N*gga U Produced The Beat Give Him $500 & Tell Him To Kick Rocks" Offers Advice To New Producers [Video]

After being in the rap game nearly 20 years, Snoop Dogg has just about seen and done it all. From working with veteran producers like Dr Dre, to helping new beat makers like Scoop DeVille make a name for themselves.

In this interview with Taj Mahal, Snoop breaks down the proper etiquette when dealing with a star like himself if you're a new producer.

"I always give n*ggas a chance ... n*ggas that aint got no name. I love giving them a chance by rapping on they beats," Snoop said. "I'm just saying when I do that, don't rob me, rob the next n*gga. Cuz I'm the n**** you tell people, "yeah Snoop gave me $20,000 for the beat.' Nah I aint gave you s***, but you tell a n*gga I gave you $20,000, that's how you leverage the game."

Snoop also recalled how he brought Soopafly into the game with a song that was featured on the 'Murder Was The Case' soundtrack. It was at a time when Death Row Records was at it's peak and Suge Knight was maybe the most feared man in the music industry.

"This n*gga Slip Capone and CPO, Soopafly did a beat for them and they didn't like the beat - ended up being the song on the Murder Was The Case soundtrack, '9 in the morning feds at my door', Who Got Some Gangsta Sh*t," Snoop explained. "I took the beat, gave him 5G's, he had never made a beat for nobody, and I gave him his publishing. And I gave him his credit, I could have said produced by Snoop Dogg. I was on Death Row back then, that's what Suge Knight told me to tell him. He said, "Tell that n*gga you produced the beat, give him $500 and tell him to kick rocks. I said, 'nah I like the lil n*gga I think he might be good with our crew and look where he at."

There's a lot more to the interview so peep it below and please leave your thoughts and comments.

Prince Speaks for Kardashian-Weary Nation: 'Get Off the Stage!

Last night at Madison Square Garden, Prince did what so many of us want to do, but simply cannot do: make Kim Kardashian go away. At the end of each of the singer's Welcome 2 America concerts in New York, he's invited VIPs onstage to dance -- and in Cyndi Lauper's case, belt a few notes. Yesterday one of his stellar backup singers took Kim by the hand and led her onstage, saying, "Look who I got." Prince busted a move; Kim stood and laughed. So he dismissed her with a neck-snapping, "Get off the stage!" as the crowd roared. "Welcome 2 America," he added, scanning the audience for another girl who "can get busy."
Stars who have successfully boogied with Prince at MSG include Sherri Sheppard, Naomi Campbell, Alicia Keys, Whoopi Goldberg, Jamie Foxx, Tavis Smiley, Cornel West, and Spike Lee. Yes, Sherri Sheppard, the same woman who horrified Prince on national TV by proclaiming on "The View," "I have wanted to make love to you for my whole life." He's even serenaded Leighton Meester with "I Love You But I Don't Trust You Anymore."
Kim's defense, mounted on Twitter (of course): "I was so nervous I froze when Prince touched me!" She added that the Purple One gave her another chance, and she did, indeed, get funky. "This time I redeemed myself! We all danced while Prince played the piano! Wow! What a night!"
In truth, she should feel honored -- because of Prince's staunch anti-Internet stance, no fresh footage of him has managed to hit the web in years. In 2007, the singer even got into a fight with his fans when he pulled down images of everything from Prince-inspired tattoos to photos of his album covers -- and when his devotees got angry, he wrote a diss track called "PFUnk" that includes the line, "I love all y'all, don't you ever mess with me no more." Thanks to the Kardashian smackdown, we got another glimpse of our favorite funkateer in action!

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray's Trial To Be Televised [Judge rules that camera will be allowed in the courtroom for manslaughter case]

MTV reports:

For what promises to be one of the most bizarre and riveting legal proceedings in years, a Los Angeles judge ruled on Monday that a television camera will be allowed in the courtroom when Michael Jackson's doctor goes on trial for involuntary manslaughter.

Reuters reported that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor, approved the presence of a camera in the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray as long as it does not interfere with the proceedings in the closely watched case.

The judge asked for the "absolute least-intrusive placement" of a TV camera in the courtroom, but blocked cameras from documenting jury selection.
Pastor also announced that he would bump up the opening date of the trail by four days to March 24, at which point jury selection will begin. Murray, who faces up to four years in prison if convicted, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the trial is expected to last around six weeks.

Cardiologist Murray was hired to be Jackson's personal physician in the run-up to the King of Pop's planned 50-date comeback series of shows at London's O2 arena in the summer of 2009. The doctor told police that he provided Jackson, 50, with sedatives and the surgical anesthetic propofol in order to combat the singer's chronic insomnia. He said he did so on the morning of June 25, 2009, when Jackson died of what a coroner deemed acute propofol poisoning.

TMZ reported on Tuesday (February 8) that Murray's lawyers plan to argue that Jackson was already in weak health before he died and that it's unfair to blame propofol for his passing. Unnamed sources close to the case told the gossip site that at the time of his death, Jackson's body was already failing him in part because concert promoter AEG Live had "driven [him] over the edge" with a rigorous rehearsal schedule for the shows.

Murray's lawyers reportedly plan to call witnesses to say that Jackson was not showing up for rehearsals and when he did he showed "clear signs" of frail health. They also reportedly plan to argue that it was Jackson who administered the final, fatal dose of propofol to himself while Murray was out of the room.

Displaced fans will receive free Super Bowl tickets next year

The 400 Super Bowl ticket holders who lost their seats at Cowboys Stadium because a temporary seating structure wasn't approved by a fire marshal will be guests at next year's Super Bowl, the NFL announced on Monday. Displaced fans will also receive $2,400, triple the face value of the $800 tickets that went to waste.
The move was the league's initial attempt at damage control from the embarrassing incident, which theyadmitted to knowing about early last week. It's a fine effort but makes the mistake of presuming that more tickets and money can replace the experience of watching your favorite team in the Super Bowl.
"It's not the money. It's the whole issue. We came here for the memories and it's not happening," said Wayne Rusch, a Green Bay Packers fan told CNN on Sunday.
League spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote on his Twitter account:
What, no coupon book? I get that the NFL wants to make a nice overture toward the displaced fans, but how are a few hot dogs and Pepsis going to make up for the fact that some people traveled for days and incurred huge costs to watch their favorite team play in the Super Bowl, only to arrive at the game and find out they didn't have a seat. The $2,400 (which is triple the face value of the $800 ticket) is a fair amount, but I doubt it covers what some people spent on airfare, hotel, car rental, meals and lost time at work. Some of those 400 fans may have bought tickets on the secondary market, where the average ticket was going for around $3,500. One man told Fox40 News in Dallas that he paid a total of $9,000 to attend the Super Bowl.
The cost is only one concern. Folks were understandably livid on Sunday night when they discovered their section was closed. A foam finger wasn't going to calm them down:

The reality of the situation is that the NFL can't make up for what happened. Getting tickets to Super Bowl XLVI only matters if the Packers or Steelers are in that game. What interest would a Green Bay fan have in seeing the Patriots and Falcons play in next year's title game? And who's paying for them to get to Indianapolis for the game? Or to stay in a hotel? Or pay taxes on the cost of the reimbursement package, which the IRS will certainly consider a gift? The NFL should step up and pay those costs too. (And that's assuming there even is a Super Bowl next year with labor strife looming.)
The league is making the best of a bad situation, but the bad situation was completely of its own doing. It wasn't an unforseen circumstance that led to these folks getting kicked out of the stadium. It was a baffling oversight by whoever was in charge of getting the seats ready.
A police officer told a reporter that the ice storm which paralyzed Dallas earlier in the week played a role in the delay of the construction of the seating structure. You're telling me that Ines Sainz and that guy from "The Tonight Show" could get to the stadium on media day, but construction workers couldn't? The Cowboys' last home game was before Christmas! The Cotton Bowl was played in the stadium on Jan. 11! Surely there was enough time to put up some stands and get them approved.
Jerry Jones and the NFL blew it. They were so concerned with party plazas and attendance records that they ignored 400 football fans who spent time and money to come see their favorite time in the Super Bowl. Empty gestures can't solve that.
They say everything is bigger in Texas. Even the debacles, it seems.

MAN CAUGHT HAVING SEX WITH SHOW HOGS! HE WAS GOING H.A.M! LOL!

Authorities said a man who was caught having sex with show hogs will have his case presented to the Leflore County Grand Jury next month. Andrew Lee Nash, 52, was arrested after police set up surveillance cameras in the owner’s stalls near U.S. Highway 82 and the Yazoo River in Mississippi.
Greenwood Police Chief Henry Purnell said the hogs were examined by a local veterinarian, during a routine examination, and the owner was told that four of the hogs had a vaginal infection.

“The owner of the animals knew someone was messing with his animals,” said Chief Investigator Huntley Nevels. “And the veterinarian confirmed the sexual assault. So, the owner contacted police and the officers staked it out and caught him out there.”Nash, who lives in the 700 block of Mississippi Avenue, was arrested at the scene and charged with 12 counts of unnatural intercourse.

Nash’s bond was initially set at $600,000, but later reduced to $60,000. Nash remains in custody at the Leflore County jail. Greenwood authorities said Nash’s case is scheduled to be presented before the Leflore County Grand Jury next month. If Nash is indicted and found guilty, he faces up to 120 years in jail.

DAMN! VERIZON STOPS ORDERS ON iPHONES AFTER THEIR ENTIRE INVENTORY SOLD OUT IN LESS THAN A DAY!

Verizon's iPhone debut was a ringing success - the biggest U.S. wireless carrier sold out its initial inventory of gadgets in less than a day.

Verizon halted preorders from its current customers at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, about 17 hours after they began. Other buyers can order online next Wednesday, and the devices will be available in stores starting on Thursday, according to the company's website.

The touchscreen smart phone broke Verizon's first-day sales records in its first two hours, according to Dan Mead, CEO of Verizon Wireless. The company said last week that the iPhone may help drive sales and profits up as much as 8% this year based on sales forecasts of 11 million devices.

Verizon probably sold nearly 100,000 iPhones before shutting down preorders, said Mike Abramsky, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets. A Verizon spokeswoman said the company wouldn't disclose how many phones were sold.

Previously, iPhone fans could only get the gadget on the network of AT&T, the country's second-largest wireless carrier. AT&T activated 15.2 million iPhones last year.

Analysts expect sales to Verizon subscribers will be strong, but the big question is how many iPhone buyers will jump ship from other carriers.

Verizon is offering trade-in rebates for new customers, which can help offset the cost of breaking a contract with AT&T. For instance, it's offering $212 for a 16-gigabyte iPhone 4 in good condition. AT&T's fee for breaking an iPhone 4 contract early is $325, but that's prorated by $10 a month.
